The site of an advanced space elevator system, Narwhal is the headquarters of Space Earth Administration (Sea). Situated in the equatorial Pacific, the sea-based complex is principally a tall multi-level structure 1.5 kilometres in height; its design inspired by the spiralling tusk of the Narwhal whale.
An incredibly strong tether, manufactured from carbon nanotube fibres, extends from the pinnacle of Narwhal to Oversea, a space platform held in geostationary Earth orbit. Maglev tracks positioned around the central tether, enable numerous trams to convey passengers and cargo. An additional track facilitates the launching of individual spaceships.
At Oversea, extensive spaceship docking and transfer facilities are provided, enabling the continuous distribution of resources from space. To ensure that the platform’s orbit remains synchronised with the Earth’s rotation and therefore directly above Narwhal, extra identical tethers extend beyond Oversea to an asteroid counterweight; captured and relocated by a Chakranger team.
Today, Narwhal is the central location for trade and commerce on Earth, as well as the principal gateway to space for cetaceans and humans.
